SAN DIEGO - (March 4, 2015) - After an uncharacteristic down year, Jimmie Johnson made sure his start to the 2015 NASCAR season would be more Johnson-like, placing in the top 5 at Daytona before dominating in a victory at Atlanta.
Johnson, longtime pro golfer Pat Perez and San Diego Sockers goalie Chris Toth, eight amateurs and six high school athletes were recognized for their accomplishments by being selected Stars of the Month for February by the San Diego Hall of Champions.
Perez played spectacular golf the first day, shooting a 66, and then Mr. Consistency as he shot three straight rounds of 68 to place fifth in the PGA Pebble Beach Open, finishing 17-under par.
Toth helped lead the Sockers to the MSL Pacific Division championship, capping off a big month by allowing a career-low one goal in a 3-1 win over the Ontario Fury.
