HUGE CROWD FOR EARLY ANNOUNCEMENT AND SIGNING PARTY

Annual Event at the San Diego Hall of Champions shatters all records

A crowd estimated at more than 550 that included 264 student-athletes from 67 high schools crowded its way into the San Diego Hall of Champions for the semi-annual “College Announcement and Signing Party” on the first day of early National Letter of Intent period.

It was a festive crowd that cheered each announcement where in most cases part, if not all, of the student-athletes’ education was being paid for. For most it was the culmination of years of practice and studying, making it even more worthwhile.

San Diego has always been known as a baseball-softball hotbed and sure enough, 64 baseball and 47 softball players announced their intention to continue their careers in college.

Football, boys and girls soccer and boys’ water polo student-athletes will have the opportunity to have the spotlight directly on them when the second Announcement and Signing Day Party will be held Feb. 1 at the San Diego Hall of Champions.

Additionally, those unable to attend the early signing period are invited to make their announcement in February.
